I graduated and post-graduated in Pakistan and soon realized that life was very different from
boarding school. Since my father had retired by that time so the onus of paying my college and
university tuition fee was on me and I had to figure out how to do that. I was always good at sports
throughout my school days but it wasn’t enough to help me pay my fees. So, I started studying hard
and got good results in the first term exams. After this, I convinced my Dean that they should have
some kind of scholarship program for deserving students and they accepted my proposal, which
later benefited a lot of students. I passed my bachelor’s as well as Master’s degree with flying
colours and distinction, receiving the Gold Medal twice. To this day, all my friends think that I was a
nerd and liked studies whereas it was the complete opposite. I studied hard to get good grades so
that I could qualify for the scholarship. It was also for the same reason that I could not do part-time
jobs as getting good grades was a necessary evil.
Finally, University was over and I entered the professional world and I started to apply for jobs. I
moved to another city and after a few short stints, I got a good job in the banking sector and worked
in the banking industry for five years but was not happy with it. I did not see myself as a banker and
always dreamt of working for myself and that’s how copywriting and content strategy came into the
picture. The more I read about It, the more it excited me and this prospect increased even further
after my marriage when I was blessed with a beautiful family. Looking at my two daughters, I wanted
to spend more and more time with them, and that was only possible if I could work on my own
terms, and what better way.
The world of online marketing and business always intrigued me and I used to read about it a lot. I
discovered the world of copywriting within a short span of time and knew immediately that it was a
career path for me. I had always been a solid writer so choosing a skillset that was like a doubleedged sword, elements of both writing and sales, made perfect sense and I wanted to tread on it. I
have been a conversion copywriter and content strategist for over 10 years and I have tried a lot of
different things in that time period. I have successfully explored the different facets and verticals of
content. Be it consulting, content marketing, SEO services, backlink strategies, conversion
optimization, keyword research, and Affiliate Marketing.
That was not the story always, in fact when I started out in the content and SEO world, there was a
lot of information on how to do things. I thought to myself that growing a blog couldn’t be that hard
and boy I was sorely mistaken. Not only was it difficult, but it was also incredibly frustrating at times,
not to forget, time-consuming as well. After much trial and error, I learned the ropes and today I can
vouch for the fact that the copy I make aims at results and strategies that yield outcomes, and what
had to be done to grow an organic presence that gets results. And this was way beyond just ranking,
it was what added to the bottom line.
I am still always testing the water and finding creative solutions and strategies to grow because I am
an avid learner, and a curious person, and my mission is to help you take that next step toward your
goal, with actionable steps and advice from proven research, experience, and best practices.
